Work. I believe we all need work. We need a purpose when we wake up in the morning. Or whenever you happen to wake up.

I thought of that word after looking at this photo and the 20 I had created before it.

I was reminded by a great photographer and teacher (Kip Brundage) to feel free and stay on a corner and WORK the scene.

I have a tendency to take the photo and move on, SLOW DOWN Jon!

Anyway, I like this one best

and I would not

have been able to get it had I left so soon without WORKING!

Back at it! CUBA!

Cuba 1013

I have avoided the blog out of fear. Fear that I would screw up. Fear of technology. Fear that no one will read this.
Well, screw it! Here I am.
I hope to keep posting. The first image is from a recent trip to Cuba. No other country has pulled so hard on me to return.

I am not sure how I will but I am confident I will. This first image was taken in early morning, almost laying in a puddle.

First blog post…

Welcome! This is the first post for the new Jon Holtz Photography blog. Here you will find some of my most recent images that I have been working on or perhaps an artistic idea/thought being discussed. My main goal for this blog is that it become interactive. I want ideas to be exchanged. I am not a preacher at a pulpit, just one person who is passionate about photography. Please join in the discussion or give feedback in any form. We will all benefit from this. Whether you are a professional, hobbyist, or budding artist, the goal is to share our ideas and experiences with one another.

Thanks for being here!
